Masirah Island in the Sultanate of Oman
Masirah Island is affiliated with the Wilayat of the Eastern Region in Oman. It is located in the southeastern part of the Sultanate, specifically in the middle of the Arabian Sea. It is unique for its relaxing vibes and fresh air. The sea turtles also add extra beauty to the shore.
It contains several water springs such as Ain Wadi al-Bilad and Ain al-Qattara. In the middle of the island, you’ll find mountains like the famous Helm Mountain located on the southern side.
Misfat Al Abriyeen
The village of Misfat Al Abriyeen dates back to different civilizations and distant centuries. It is distinguished for being one thousand square meters above sea level, and it is attached to a mountain forming part of it between forests and green trees.
After you walk between the mountain roads, you will reach the Misfat Al Abriyeen Gate. From there, you will see the houses built of stones and mud on top of the large stone blocks. Moreover, as you walk between the streets and corridors of the village, you will enjoy the sounds of the water and the songbirds.
Wahiba Sands
The Wahiba Sands, aka the Eastern Sands of the Sultanate of Oman, is considered one of the best camping destinations in the Sultanate of Oman. The Green Mountain (Jabal Al Akhdar)
Jabal Al Akhdar is considered one of the best winter destinations in the Sultanate of Oman for its refreshing and comfortable atmosphere in this particular season.
The green color spreads in many of its parts through terraces distributed in its various regions. The winter season in Jabal Al Akhdar witnesses the pomegranate harvest season which its trees spread throughout the mountain.
The mountain is located in the Niyabat Barakat al-Muz in the state of Nizwa in the Governorate of Ad Dakhiliyah. To reach it from the capital Muscat, go via the Muscat-Nizwa highway, then turn right towards the entrance to Barakat Al-Muz, and continue walking to reach a small break in which there are 4×4 car rental offices and some shops, cafes and restaurants.
The journey takes about two hours from the capital Muscat, to the highest peak of the mountain.
